Shannon Elizabeth Miller Hernandez, age 58, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Long Beach, MS, Shannon was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. She dedicated her life to her family and faith as a homemaker and nurturer to all who knew her.
Shannon had a deep love for crafts, ceramics, cooking, music, and her Catholic faith. She was a passionate advocate for domestic violence victims and immigration reform and was best known for her generous heart and motherly nature—always offering kindness, guidance, and strength to those in need.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Mays; and her grandparents, John and Mary Braun.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Eduardo Jose Hernandez; mother, Susan Havens; her children, Corey Miller (Lyndsey), Holly Miller, Tyler Miller (Bailee), Kaleigh Miller, and Melina Hernandez; and her grandchildren, Lilah, Londynn, Rylie, Baleigh, Natalie, Dominic, Liam, Bentley, and Nathan. Her legacy of love and compassion lives on through each of them.
Her favorite verse, Psalm 119:114, reflects the faith she lived by:
“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.”
Services will be private at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach. Interment will be at Long Beach City Cemetery, Long Beach, MS.
