SFC James Denver Goble, age 73, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 in Wiggins.
He was born on January 4, 1940 in Lancer, Kentucky. After high school, James joined the Unites States Army and retired in June of 1977. James was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Grace Akers Goble; one brother, Charles H. Goble; and one sister, Patricia A. Wells Stockstill.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Collins Goble of Wiggins; three sons, James (Susan) Goble of Sheperdsville, Kentucky, Gary Keith (Mirian) Goble of Gulfport, and Larry Joe (Annette) Goble of Wiggins; two grandsons; four granddaughters; two great granddaughters; and one great grandson. He is also survived by three brothers, Jack L. (Ruth) Goble of Hawthorne, FL, Donald Ray Goble of Auxier, KY, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul David Goble of Atlanta, Georgia; five sisters, Mary Grace (Larry) Hunter of North Carolina, Barbara Sue (John) Ratcliff of Kentucky, Brenda K. (Jimmy) Spurlock of Pennsylvania, Wanda F. Snipe of Indiana, and Phyllis J. (Billy) Cornett of Kentucky; two sister in laws, Sharon K. (Robert) Hale of Georgetown, Kentucky and Marty J. (James) Ward of Van Lear, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 from 5:30 to 9:00 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery immediately following services.
