Scott Joseph Martin, 54, of Kiln, lost his earthly battle with cancer and meningitis on January 24, 2018 but received his heavenly victory that very day.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darfus Martin. He is survived by his wife of 3 1/2 years, Allison Hoda Martin, his mother, Merle Martin, stepsons, Chance (Katherine) & Cole Stockstill, grandchildren, Macie & Kaleigh, and his siblings, Kirk (Karen) Martin, Chris (Deborah) Martin, and Penny (Chuck) Clark.
Scott graduated with a bachelor's degree from USM and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a mild natured, kind & simple man and was known as that "nice guy"." He was dedicated to his job at Mississippi Power for over 26 years. He was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He took pride in serving the Lord and participating in church functions and activities. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all and never forgotten.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 28 from 5 pm - 9 pm at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 27074 St. Matthew Road, White Cypress, off Hwy 603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm Monday in the Church with visitation beginning at 11 am. Burial will follow in the St. Matthew Cemetery with fellowship in the Church Hall afterwards.
