Obituary

Sandra Faye Farmer, born Sandra Faye Calhoun in July of 1939, in Newton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in Picayune. Her passing marks the conclusion of a long and meaningful life.

A devoted wife, Sandra was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Garber. She found profound joy and fulfillment in their union, which was further enriched by the arrival of their children. She is survived by her sons, Steve and Jeff Garber, who carry forward her legacy with integrity and love. Sandra’s life was touched by both celebration and sorrow; she was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Oleta Calhoun, her daughter, Deborah Garber, and her brother, Jerry Calhoun.

Sandra’s role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was among her greatest sources of pride. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Sandra showed a love for flowers and gardening. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and going camping. Sandra often showed deep enjoyment in Mardi Gras, and in anything associated with those celebrations.

Sandra Faye Farmer’s passing is deeply felt by her loved ones. Her memory is honored by her surviving sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and by all who were privileged to share in her remarkable life. She is reunited now with the family who went before her, and those who remain will hold her forever in their hearts.

Sandra's family will be planning to have a memorial service at a later date.

The family would like to express special thanks to Arden Hospice and Country Living Personal Care Home for the care they provided Sandra during the last stage of her life.
