Samuel Grimes, Jr.

Samuel G. Grimes, age 77 passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018.  Sam was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
He retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service and from the Gulfport/Biloxi VA after 22 years.  Sam was a Vietnam Vet and held a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from University of Southern Mississippi.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lynne Grimes; daughter, Terri Graham (Chuck); grandson, Taylor Morse (fiancé, Brittany Routzahn); sister, Marian LoCicero of New Orleans; sister-in-law, Donna Jill Johnson of Meridian; three step-daughters, Kim Ross (Mike), Pam Parker (Jesse) and Shari Miller (Robert); 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Sam was a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.  His greatest joy was spending time with his best friend and devoted wife, Lynne.
He loved playing golf with his buddies almost daily and was an avid LSU fan.  Sam was a gourmet chef with a New Orleans flair and kept an immaculate yard.  Deeply patriotic and  loyal, he was a friend you would want in your "foxhole".
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made to The Humane Society of South Mississippi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Pass Christian, with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service.  Burial with full military honors will be at Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM.
