Ruth Wilson, of Long Beach, was born in 1917 and passed away January 8, 2016.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her two daughters, S. W. Baker and Cynthia Wilson; her grandson, Kenneth Baker, his wife, Masako; and her great-grandson, Alex Baker. She was the wife of CDR James C. Wilson, who passed away in 1983. She was born in Hagerstown, MD, where she is survived by Jean Hoover, Christine Coss, Douglas Henry, John T. Hoover, Jr., Sue Hoover, John T. Hoover, III, and Andrew Hoover.
Throughout her 98 years, she enjoyed art, worked in fashion, and during WWII she joined the ""Rosie the Riveter"" team as a clerk typist at the Naval Air Repair Facility in Norfolk, VA. There she met and married her husband, then Ensign James C. Wilson. Together they had three daughters, Suzanne, Marie, and Cynthia. She enjoyed traveling during her husband's career and enjoyed assisting her customers during her career as a new accounts clerk for Sovran Bank. She was a devout Roman Catholic and dedicated her prayer life to the Blessed Mother. She hosted prayer meetings in her home and supported various ministries at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, especially the Youth Ministry.
She will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
