Ruth Carolyn Minor, age 84, of Florence, Alabama, passed away on June 15, 2016, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Carolyn was the homecoming queen at Colbert County High School, in Alabama, and married the football captain, Luther, after he joined the Army. She loved to play the piano and sing, especially with her sister, Lois. They even have a record and their group name was the “Bobalinks”. She loved working the daily crossword puzzle, in ink, and working jigsaw puzzles.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Elton “Buddy” Minor; her second husband, Herb Barnett; her parents, Robert “Boboo” Underwood and Elizabeth “Momoo” Underwood; her brother, David Underwood; her sister Juanita Higdon Crawley.
Mrs. Minor is survived by her children, Robert Stephen Minor, of Birmingham, Alabama, Cynthia Lois (Ray) Grabarz, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and Laurie Ruth (Chris) Estes, of Gulfport, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Chris (Alyssa) Warren, Audrey (Jason) House, Jonathan Minor, Jake Estes, and Josh Estes; her great grandchildren, Lucas House and Adeline House; her sister, Lois Stephens, and many nieces and nephews.
The services were held at Chisolm Hills Church of Christ in Florence, Alabama, and the burial was at Colbert Memorial Gardens in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
