Ruth M. Ferguson

Ruth M. Ferguson, age 94 of Biloxi, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband 51 years, Harry Robert “Bob” Ferguson; her daughter, Sandra Parker; her parents, William and Katie Risenhoover; her daughter-in-law, Evelyn Ferguson and her siblings, Nellie Posey, Lilly Price and Ike Risenhoover.

Ruth is survived by her children, Sharon Dye, Robert Ferguson, Darle (Barbara) Ferguson, Stephen (Linda) Ferguson, Carol Parker, Esther (Jerry) King; her son-in-law, Sammy Parker; 19 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her siblings, Ervin (Sharon) Risenhoover, Radah Bray, Martha McFerrin, Wayne (Bonnie) Risenhoover and Patricia Reed and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was born and raised in the Quinton, Oklahoma, area, where she lived until the age of eighteen. It was in Eugene, Oregon, that she met the love of her life, Bob. The two were married in 1953 and went on to build a beautiful life together, filled with love, family, and 51 years of cherished memories.

Bob honorably served in the United States Air Force for 22 years before retiring from Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi. The couple made Biloxi their home, where they would live for the remainder of their lives.

Ruth was a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Church and was a devoted member of Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast for many years. She had a true green thumb and found great joy in tending to her garden. Ruth was also known for her warm hospitality and loved nothing more than cooking for her family and making everyone feel welcome in her home.

Above all, Ruth cherished her family. She devoted much of her life to caring for those she loved and treasured every opportunity to spend time together. She enjoyed working puzzles, looked forward to the Christmas season, and especially loved the times when the entire family could gather under one roof. Those gatherings, filled with laughter, love, and togetherness, created many meaningful memories that will remain in the hearts of her family for years to come.

Ruth was the heart of her family and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She gave so much of herself to those she loved, always finding joy in caring for her family and bringing them together. Her presence brought warmth and love to every gathering, and her absence will leave a place in their hearts that can never be filled. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast, 1907 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS 39532, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. Reception will immediately follow the funeral service at the church. Graveside service will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Biloxi National Cemetery.
