Russell Lee Seymore

Russell Lee Seymore Sr., 93, of Gulfport, died Saturday July 6, 2013, in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Eleanor Cooper Seymore; his parents, Carrie & John E. Seymore; grandchildren, Michael Zupko and Amity McCabe; brother, Gray Seymore; and sister, Mary Seymore Hillyard.
Mr. Seymore is survived by Son Russell L. Seymore Jr. (Molly); daughters, Marie Romano (Leo), Mary McCabe (Gary), all of Gulfport, and Patty Zupko (John) of Jackson, MS; eight grandchildren, Alexa Zupko Wier (Steven), Elise Seymore Porras (Paul), Cameron Seymore (Susan), Amber Romano Ladner (Jonathan), Chris Romano (Veronica), Carrie Seymore Donnelly (Edward), Tyler McCabe (Maegen) and Matthew McCabe; great-grandchildren, Bennett , Carter, & Caroline Wier, Eleanor Porras, Audrey & Colette Seymore, Addison & Anna Grace Ladner, Rowan Romano, and Caitlyn Mae Donnelly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Russell was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish. He retired after 50 years with Wigley & Culp Inc. of Gulfport, MS. He was also a member of the Gulfport Evening Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus Council #1583.
The family would like to acknowledge long-time caregivers, Diana McBride, Deborah Carr, and Laurie Michua, and the staff of Canon Hospice, especially Cemika Nelson, Kendall Diaz, and Mary McMahon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport, MS, on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
