Russell W. Lanning

Russell W. Lanning, Jr., 67, passed away on Sunday, December 8 at his home in Gulfport surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Russell was born on February 5, 1946 in Gulfport, Mississippi, where he worked as an independent insurance adjustor for many years before retiring.
He was the son of Mrs. Margaret ""Margie"" Lanning of Gulfport and the late Russell William Lanning, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Lester A. Lanning.
Russell is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Gulfport, his son, Neil Lanning and his wife, Denise, of Gulfport, sisters, Debbie McClendon and Patti Bosarge, sister-in-law, Joni duPerier and brother-in-law, A.W. duPerier, and a special niece, Lori Beth Jackson and her children, Anna and Gage, as well as countless friends who transcend the lines of friendship and family.
Russell was an avid outdoorsman whose love of fishing, hunting and classic cars gave him great pleasure. He considered his hunting camp his second home. He and his family are members of the Woolmarket Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 9 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Family visitation begins at 5 pm with friends to follow from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am in the funeral home chapel followed by a brief graveside memorial at Finley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Woolmarket Baptist Church, 12816 Lorraine Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
