Russell Joseph Franklin, age 26 of Gulfport, MS died Saturday, March 24, 2018.
Russell was born in Biloxi to Holly Ann Franklin of Gulfport and Ricky Joseph Yennie, of Woolmarket. Russell had recently found his way back to the church and had been excited about his new faith and the love he had for Jesus, as well as the love that he felt from Jesus. He loved when he worked with his Dad, and was a real outdoorsman. He loved fishing, swimming, and listening to music any chance he got. Russell was so shy, yet would help anyone in need. His children and family were the most important things in his life; and he will forever be loved and remembered, but terribly missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Leroy Yennie, Sr., of Woolmarket, and Bert Lee Hosey, Jr,. of Taylorsville; and uncle, John L Chase Jr., of Latimer.
He is survived by his children Cecelia, Russell, Abigail and Aleah, of Gulfport; his mother, Holly Ann Franklin, of Gulfport; father, Ricky Joseph Yennie, of D'Iberville; sisters, Tiffany Yennie, of Woolmarket, Stefanie Nicole "Nikki" Franklin, of Gulfport; brother, David James Franklin, of Gulfport; his grandmothers, Sherry Lee Durrell, of Gulfport, and Catherine Yennie, of Woolmarket; aunts and uncles, Bert "Buddy" and Julieann Hosey III, Mitchell and Tracey Hosey, of Palacious, TX, Leroy and Paula Yennie, David and Sara Yennie, Gary and Teresa Yennie, Michael and Amy, and Scott and Trisha all of Woolmarket, and Victoria "Vicki" Chase, of Latimer; nieces and nephews, Allysa, Adian, Braxton, Brendon, Brayden; cousins, Terry Eaton Jr., of Latimer, Kristen Eatonc of Kiln, John L Chase III, of Latimer, and Nicholas Chase, of Latimer, MS
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 31, 2018 at the Coalville United Methodist Church, 12298 Shorecrest Road, Biloxi, MS starting at 1:00 PM, with a visitation for family and friends from 12:00 PM until the service. A memorial will be held at the Fountain Pier at a later date.
