He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Ashworth and Lelia Moran Morgan; son, Russell Herbert Stone; sister, Barbara Hardell.
He is survived by his wife, Tilly Ashworth of Gulfport; daughter, Crystal Ely (Melvin) of Vancleave; son, Brian Ashworth (Breanna) of Rome, GA; step-daughter, Mal Gregory (Keith) of Gulfport; step-son, Melvin Cheeley of Gulfport; step-daughter, Angel Cheeley of Gulfport; step-daughter, Gabby Reyer of Gulfport; sister, Sr. Mary Lawrence "Flo" of Biloxi; Mary Shaw (David) of Perkinston, and Ann Prine of Gulfport; 10 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00PM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Lizana. A visitation will begin at 12:00PM until Mass time at the church on Friday. A burial will follow the Mass at The First Free Church of God Cemetery in Gulfport.
