Rufus J. Cuevas, age 87 and a resident of Kiln, died on Monday, November 18, 2013, in Kiln.
Mr. Cuevas was a native and lifelong resident of Kiln. He retired from the Gulfport VA Hospital after 27 years of service and was owner of Cuevas Junction in Kiln. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and was an avid farmer. Mr. Cuevas was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnel & Onazie Necaise Cuevas and his brother, Agnel Cuevas, Jr.
Mr. Cuevas is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Margaret Necaise Cuevas of Kiln; his children, Earlene (Charles) Kornman of Diamondhead, Berlyn J. Cuevas and Garland T. Cuevas both of Kiln; his grandchildren, Connie (Richard) Gipson, Scottie (Rhonda) Duprey, and Brandy (Shawn) Gebbia all of Kiln and his great grandchildren, Ashton & Destin Aime, Bryce & Chase Duprey, and Baleigh & Brennan Gebbia.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, from 6pm-9pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road in Pass Christian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 22, 2013, at 10:30am at Annunciation Catholic Church (in the new building), where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Annunciation Catholic Church, 5370 Kiln Delisle Road, Kiln, MS 39556.
