Ruby L. "Nonnie" Normand, 88, of Hancock County, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

A native of the Gulf Coast, Ruby dedicated much of her working life to serving others. She was employed by Sears Roebuck before beginning a career with Pan American as a travel agent, where she worked until her retirement.

Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Wade P. Normand; her son, René P. Normand; her mother, Erma Powell; and her brother, Billie Powell.

She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Brandon and Diana Normand, Heather Normand, Tyler and Kristi Normand, and Chari Normand and Michel Scott. She also leaves behind seven cherished great-grandchildren: Evan Normand, Emma Leigh Normand, Sagan Greene, Valerie Greene, Tristan Allen, Sadie Allen, and Michael Normand.

An avid gardener, Ruby found great joy working with her hands in the soil and nurturing her yard. She faithfully attended church and remained actively involved with her church family for many years. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or steadfast prayer, she was always ready to serve. Even as her strength began to fade, her servant's heart never did.

Above all else, Ruby's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved each of them fiercely with a boundless, unconditional love, cherishing every moment the Lord blessed her to spend by their side. Her presence was a source of comfort, wisdom, and unwavering affection, and the memories they shared will remain forever rooted in their hearts.

Ruby was a woman of unwavering faith and a devoted Christian whose love for the Lord guided

every aspect of her life. She found great joy in studying God’s Word and sharing its teachings with those she loved. The seeds of faith, love, and kindness she faithfully planted throughout her life will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy is not only found in the memories she leaves behind, but in the lives she touched, and the friends family she cherished.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln DeLise Rd, Pass Christian, MS. Visitation will begin at 8:00 A.M., preceding the service, which will begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
