Ruby Milhas

September 7, 1932 — October 25, 2020

Wiggins

Surrounded by her beloved family, Ruby Mae Bricka Milhas peacefully entered eternal rest at her home in Wiggins, Mississippi, on October 25, 2020.
Ruby was born in Osyka, Mississippi, daughter of the late German Fay and Lady Mae Bricka. She was a devoted wife of 69 years, loving sister, mother and granny. Ruby’s zest for life was obvious to all she knew. Her laugh and smile brightened the hearts of so many.
As a military spouse, she traveled the world while raising a family of three young children. One of her favorite stations was in England, where she visited multiple museums and spent many hours creating beautiful brass rubbings to commemorate plaques found on the floor of famous churches in Britain. She worked as a secretary at various offices during their travels, and at Loyola University Library in New Orleans. Upon retirement, she settled in Wiggins, Mississippi and adjusted to country life.
Ruby’s loyalty and compassion were evident throughout her life as she cared for her parents, friends, family and was an active volunteer at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. As a devout catholic, she was confident in her faith and salvation through Jesus Christ. By prayers and God’s blessing, she exceeded the life expectancy given by numerous doctors and bravely pressed on for over twenty years with various health limitations. Her family is grateful to God for her extended life and the many joyous events she was able to share with those she loved so much.
Mrs. Milhas is survived by her husband, Barry J. Milhas, C.P.O. (Ret.); her son, Steven M. Milhas of Wiggins, MS; her daughter, Pamela F. Milhas Brenner and her husband, Charles F. Brenner III of Labadieville, LA.; her grandchildren, Emily B. Ovalle, Sarah B. Danos, Nathaniel G. Brenner, Brandy T. Saurage, Nichole M. Blank, and Christopher Milhas; her seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Barbara Bricka Knudsen of Perkinston, MS, and Alice Bricka Moncada of Las Vegas, NV, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceeded in death by her son, Michael B.J. Milhas.
