Royce Julian Ladner, age 78, of Dedeaux, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
Mr. Ladner was born in Hancock County and was an educator in the Long Beach School System until his retirement. His presence and gentle nature made him a great role model and allowed him the opportunity to impact many lives throughout his career. His influence has led many to follow in his footsteps in the education profession. Mr. Ladner was very involved at his parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux, where he was a Lecter, Sacristan, member of the Knights of Columbus, and former Religious Education Director.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ola and Azelia Ladner; brothers, Leon, Leran, Clarence, Neville, Jimmy, and Ola, Jr.; and his sisters, Viola Cuevas, Clara Hoda, Cleo Zahn, and Essie Jewel Ladner.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ladner; children, Marian Ladner Necaise (Berry), and Royce ""Beau"" Ladner, II, all of Dedeaux; brothers, Woodrow Ladner (Doris) and Carl Ladner (Betty); sisters, Una Ladner and Leola Alexander; and grandchildren, Julianne Ladner, Gannon Necaise and Gavin Necaise, who were his heart and soul.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
