Royce (Roy) Eli Conine, 82, passed away peacefully in Gulfport, MS, on April 26, 2026. Born in Lakeland, GA, on June 10, 1943, Roy lived a life filled with love, service and time with his family.
A true patriot, he was proud to serve and was highly respected throughout service to our country. Roy proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. His dedication continued into civil service at Keester AFB for 18 more years. Roy received many awards and accolades throughout his military and civil service career.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, remembered for love of the outdoors, hunting with friends and family at Wildwood hunting camp, fishing, bowling, fried catfish, cookouts, crawfish boils, and WWE Wresting's Friday night smack down. But more than that he loved his grandkids Every visit with the grandkids brought a smile to his face. He took pride in sharing his wisdom, wisdom, teaching the grandkids to catch fish in the pond, directing us on how work cars, how to be a plumber, and simple electrical work.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years; Sylvia Jean Conine, his children, Terri (Art) Massey, Richard (Amanda) Conine, Melanie Milburn, Rusty Herrin. Ronnie (Annie) Herrin, grandchildren, Steven (Courtney) Massey, Ben (Emily) Massey, Amber (Dylan) Bains, Anna Conine, Ethan Conine, Bianca Milburn, Emily Milburn, Charles Cantu, William (Bri) Herrin, Breanne Herrin, Matthew Herrin, Caitlyn (Gaige) Sidaway and 6 great grandchildren; his siblings, Thomas (Katie) Conine, Jessie Boyd, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. and Gracie Conine, his brothers; George Conine, John Conine, and James Conine, AC Hester, and Lucious Bennett
Visitation will be from 10:30 until 11:30 Monday, May 4th at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Biloxi. The funeral service will follow at 11:30. Burial with full military honors will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Tunnels to Towers or any charity of your choice.
Roy will he deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all his family and friends who knew him.
