Roy Louis Schutzmann

Roy Louis Schutzmann, age 82, of Long Beach, passed away on June 2, 2013 in Long Beach.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol Schutzmann of Long Beach, and his six children and their spouses and children; two daughters, Karen Schutzmann Welborn and husband, Ken Welborn, and children Kenny, Joyce, Katherine, Olivia, Jonathon, Zachary, and Lydia of Stamford, CT; Katherine Schutzmann Biggs and husband, Tom Biggs of Houston, TX; and four sons, Karl Schutzmann and wife, Pamela, and children Ryan and Morgan, of Pensacola Beach, FL; Kurt Schutzmann and wife, Cecille, and children Jessica and Gabriel, of Tiburon, CA; Eric Schutzmann of New Orleans, LA; Roy Matthew Schutzmann and wife, Kellie Wilkinson Schutzmann, and daughter, Rileigh, of Flower Mound, TX.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Schutzmann, of New Orleans, LA, and his parents, Roy William Schutzmann and Ines Pineda Schutzmann, both of New Orleans, LA.
He was a graduate of Jesuit High School, New Orleans and received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Loyola University, New Orleans and a M.S. degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg.
He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a Colonel and retired from the Environmental Protection Agency.
He was a Master Gardner, member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi, Knights of Columbus, AAII, SCORE, Carnival Association Of Long Beach, of which he was Grand Duke in 1984, and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach, MS, at 2:00 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society or St Vincent de Paul Elementary School, Long Beach, MS.
