Roy Kennedy, age 84, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Kennedy was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and DAV. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Louis Kennedy; sisters, Doris Cook, Donna Owens, Evelyn Taylor, Betty Jean Richards and Norma Walker; brothers, Wilford Kennedy, Burnell Kennedy and Louis Kennedy Jr.; and his grandson, Christopher Kennedy.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elaine Kennedy; daughters, Susan Wildin, Rachel Kennedy and Beth Rushing; son, Tony ""Buddy"" Kennedy; 8 grandchildren, Gina, Adam, Corey, Abby, Nick, Ian, Matt and Emily;4 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Kyle, Alyssa and Cameron; and brother, Curtis Kennedy.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of gathering from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 7 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport.
There will be a graveside service scheduled at a later date at the National Cemetery in Biloxi.
