Roy Harmon Hogan, Jr., age 89 and resident of Pass Christian, MS, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Roy was born on December 4, 1924 in Little Rock, AR to Roy Harmon Hogan, Sr. and Estelle Holland Hogan. Roy served in the U.S. Merchant Marines in World War 2. In 1950, Roy joined Arkansas Power & Light starting in Little Rock, AR before moving to El Dorado, AR in 1969. He spent 40 years with AP&L, retiring in 1990 as Southern Division Manager. Roy was active in the community, serving on the civil service commission, Arkansas Hospital Association, Board of
Directors-Warner Brown Hospital and Medical Center of South Arkansas, and Board of Trustees-American Hospital Association among others. He was also active in the church serving at First
United Methodist Church in El Dorado, AR, before chairing stewardship campaigns and serving on the vestry at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian, MS.
Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie Webb Hogan; daughters Bonnie Richards of Birmingham, AL and Alison Gay Hogan of Pass Christian, MS; grandchildren Christina Faught of Gulf Breeze, FL and Caleb Harmon Hogan of Boston, MA; and great-granddaughter Kellen Faught of Gulf Breeze, FL.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Humane
Society of South Mississippi or Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian, MS.
