Roy Daniels, age 81, a native of Avera, GA, and a resident of Saucier, MS, passed away on July 11, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hester and Lurlean Daniel; brothers, Tommy and Terry; sister, Eloise.
Roy is survived by his children, Rita (Don) Hill, Rhonda (Dee) Nelson, Richard (Susan) Daniels, Robin Daniels and Regina Johnson; siblings, M.H. Daniel, Jan (Bill) Phillipe, Darry (Linda) Daniel, Nell (Buster) Lewis, and Eulawynne (Bobby) Kitchens; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Roy served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Roy was a retired brick mason by trade, and also served as an auxiliary deputy for the Harrison County Sheriff's Dept. He then moved to Los Angels, CA, and retired from the City of Los Angeles as a building inspector.
Roy was awarded the 1,000,000 Mile Iron Butt (1 million miles ridden on a 1500 Honda Goldwing). In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, mowing his lawn, and motorcycling. He was a member of Ride for Kids (Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation), totaling $35,299 for charity, and was a founding member of Monrovia Knights Motorcycle Club, Monrovia, CA.
The funeral service will be on Friday, July 17, 2015 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport at 11:00AM, with a visitation for friends beginning at 10:00Am. Burial will follow in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
