Reverend Roy Louis Chenevert was surrounded by family when he transcended into the heavens on the wings of angels and into the arms of God on December 23, 2012.
Roy was born in New Orleans to the late Matthias and Thelma Chenevert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother. He is survived by his wife, Janice Askelund Chenevert, four daughters, Suzanne Prachiel (John), Charlotte Hagy (John), Jennifer Shackelford (Jon), and Janis Hayden (Lee), three grandsons, Justin Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Christian Hayden; and four step-grandchildren, Taylor Shackelford, Shantel, Marianna, and John Goodwin.
Rev. Chenevert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He spent many years working for New Orleans Public Service, Dominican College, St. Martin's Episcopal School and retired from Harrison County Courthouse. He dedicated his life to the church from a young age and taught the word of God at St. George's Anglican Church in Pass Christian, MS. He touched many lives with his love, kindness and compassion. He enjoyed spending many hours with his one year old grandson, Christian.
Services will be held 11 am Friday, December 28, 2012 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 am.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
