He served in the United States Navy for 18 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Dietz and Edna Appel Dietz.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathleen Dietz of Saucier; 3 children, Kathy O'Connor of Dallas, TX, John Chris Dietz of Saucier, and Ross Jeffery Dietz (Aleshia) of Pass Christian; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
