Rose Carlton (Dunn) Harrison, age 93, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012, in Biloxi, MS.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Rocky Mount, NC, to William Shelton and Martha Taylor Dunn and was their only child. She graduated from Rocky Mount High School in 1937, and from East Carolina Teacher's College in 1941. She married O.A. Harrison shortly thereafter in 1942. After Mr. Harrison's service to the U.S. Navy and college graduation in 1948, they moved to Raleigh where they resided most of their lives. She was an early member of Highland United Methodist Church, an active member of the Raleigh Garden Club, and a member of the Raleigh Women's Club. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed volunteering in Raleigh which helped her develop a large network of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.A. Harrison, and her parents.
She is survived by her son W. Carlton Harrison (and wife, Jeanne) of Biloxi.
Graveside services will be Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Raleigh Memorial Park, at 2:00 p.m.
