Rosa Lee Sauls

Rosa Lee Patton Sauls, age 82, passed away March 22, 2023, in Gulfport, MS.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Philip Pearcey; her parents, Virgil Patton and Beatrice Scarborough; her brothers, Baby Boy Patton, Cleveland Patton, Delmar Patton, Clifford Patton, and Richard Patton; her sisters, Elizabeth Patton, Louise House, and Crystal LaBauve.

She is survived by her children, Constance Martinelli (Glen) and Gregory “Eli” Sauls; a sister, Eleanor Jay Tubbs; her grandchildren, Brandee Koleski, Desire’e Martinelli (Aaron), Chancellor Martinelli, Luke Sauls, Braden Martinelli, and Sage Sauls; 3 great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Koleski, Alexis Dauro, and Kody Dauro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Sauls was a native of Saucier and was a current resident of Gulfport. She was a 1959 graduate of Perkinston Agricultural High School and after graduation, she attended business school in New Orleans, LA. She worked as a Retail Jewelry Manager for more than 40 years and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a huge NFL fan supporting the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers. She was a member of Faithview Baptist Church. 

On behalf of our family, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. Your kind words, gestures, and presence have meant so much to us as we navigate the loss of our precious mother. We especially want to thank Dr. Allison Wall and Dr. Summer Allen and their support teams, Memorial Hospital Cancer Center, and Canon Hospice who provided compassionate care. We appreciate all the prayers from family and friends. Your love and support has brought us comfort and solace and we will be forever grateful.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to Faithview Baptist Church.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 2 – 3 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Saucier Cemetery.
