Ronald E. Hammons, Sr, age 77, of Long Beach, passed away on November 14, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Fennell "Gerry" Hammons; his parents, Henry E. and Juanita Allen Hammons; a brother, Henry A. "Butch" Hammons; a sister-in-law, Connie Cole.
He is survived by four sons, Steven (Ida) Hammons, Keith (Krista) Hammons, Ronnie Jr. (Mimi) Hammons, and Randy Hammons; 14 grandchildren, Whitney, Shea, Michael, Haley, Brian Keith, Aaron, Lauren, Erica, Jeremy, Jonathan (Elise,) Joshua (Michelle), Madison, Will Hammons, and Ryan Bradley; 4 great grandchildren, Aiden and Cooper Bradley, Talyah Hammons-Hollis, Rhett Hammons; a brother, Donald E. Hammons; a sister, Lynn Hammons; his uncle, Richard Allen; and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Hammons was a native and lifelong resident of Long Beach. He retired from MS Power Company and later became a general contractor. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Thomas Church, P.O. Box 2529, Long Beach, MS 39560.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the Mass. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery at a later date.
