Ronald E. Bogart, age 81, of Diamondhead Mississippi, born August 24, 1935 in Toppenish, WA, passed away on January l6, at his home in Diamondhead after a long battle with lung cancer. Necaise of Pass Christian, and his cousin and other best friend, Robert Carlton of Yakima, Washington and Yuma, Arizona. He dearly loved his family and always made them his first priority.
After serving in the United States Air Force for over 21 years, he retired and moved to Long Beach, MS with his family. During his military career he served in many locations in the United States and Germany and had many friends across the county and his chosen home along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was a certified master instructor for the Air Force and also received numerous awards during his tenure with the Air Force. After his service in the military, he was employed with Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula and later with the Rocketdyne Division of Rockwell International at Stennis Space Center where he was involved in testing engines for the space shuttle missions. After retirement he and his wife traveled extensively in the United States. There was nothing he enjoyed more that a good long "road trip" and bringing a smile to everyone. He also enjoyed making limoncello for family and friends to enjoy at Christmas and received rave reviews for his efforts. He was no stranger in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking his specialty dishes.
The family wishes to express our undying appreciation to his oncologists and all members of his care team at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. These dedicated individuals are some of the most remarkable and caring people we have every met. We truly feel they were able to give us many good quality years with our beloved husband, father and grandfather and our best and most noble champion in all things. He will truly be missed. He could always manage to tell a good story that brought many smiles and lovely memories to his extended family, friends, and even casual strangers. These stories will live in our memories and no doubt become family "folklore."
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his honor be made to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O.
