Robert J. Meadows, age 87, of Long Beach went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 25, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Micage Meadows and Mary Estelle Wells; and his brother, Tom Meadows.
Mr. Meadows is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elise Cheairs Meadows of Long Beach; his children, Linda Salchenberg of Gulfport, and Joye Elise Pierce of Long Beach; two sisters, Mary Sue Fikes of Jasper, TX, and Helen Edwards of Petal, MS; his brother, Howard Edwards of Pascagoula, MS; two grandchildren, Christian Craig and Jackie Pierce, both of Long Beach, MS; and one great grandchild, Gavin Craig.
Mr. Meadows was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. Last September, he was a participant in MS Gulf Coast Honor Flight to Washington, DC. He enjoyed his many years of volunteer work at the Long Beach Food Pantry. He was also a very faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Long Beach. He was a wood craftsman, having built many beautiful furniture pieces and other wooden objects.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
