He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois Long; and a daughter, Pam Carlisle.
Survivors include his close friend, Elaine Roberts; 2 brothers, Rodney Long and Terry Long; grandson, Austin Carlisle; grandchildren, Stephanie Nekole Catchot, Amber Bowser, and Levi Brumfield; and other relatives and friends.
A private memorial service will be held.
