Robert E. Farish

Robert E. Farish, Jr., age 82, died on October 16, 2013 in Biloxi, MS. He was born in Jackson, MS and was a resident of Biloxi for the past 32 years.
He was preceded in his death by his father, Robert E. Farish, Sr., and his mother, Mildred B. Farish.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha N. Farish, who was also born in Jackson, MS where they attended high school together. Other survivors include his daughter, Linda Farish Glaze of Oxford, MS, his sons, David Farish and Jerry Farish, both of Biloxi, MS, and his sister Stella Wilkins of Columbia, SC, and nine grandchildren.
Robert attended Mississippi State University and entered the U. S. Air Force after graduation in 1953. During his 20 years of military service as a pilot, he was stationed in Japan where he flew the RF-84F ""Thunderflash"". In 1963 he was transferred to Ramstein AFB in Germany and transitioned to the RF-101C ""Voodoo"" reconnaissance jet. In 1967 he was assigned to service in Thailand and South Vietnam and completed his required 100 combat missions during the Vietnam conflict. During his military career he earned a number of flying medals, including the Bronze Star, which is presented for ""Heroic or meritorious achievement of service"". After his wartime service, he completed his military career at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and retired as a Lt Colonel in 1974.
He then relocated to Oxford, MS where he enrolled in the University of Mississippi, School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1978. He chose to open a law office Biloxi, MS and practiced law for over 20 years. He specialized in family and real estate law and spent some time as a public defender in the Harrison County court system. He was an active member of the West Biloxi Rotary Club. Robert was an avid golfer and played most of his adult life. He has many friends at Sunkist Golf Course in Biloxi.
His family would like to thank those professionals at the 81st Medical Group at Keesler Air Force Base medical center in Biloxi for their kind and thoughtful service during Robert's illness.
Visitation will be held at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral Service at 12:00 p.m.. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
