Robert A. Dardar, age 74, passed away on March 11, 2025, while surrounded by his daughter Nora and two special granddaughters, Madison and Abby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Della Dardar; wife Mary E. Sutton Dardar; and granddaughter, Jennifer Ramirez.
Robert is survived by his children, Stephen (Rebecca) Dardar, Gloria (Crystal) Ramirez, Nora (Patrick) Oriol, and Jonathan (Katie) Genna; 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
A dedicated professional, Robert had a long and fulfilling career as a diesel mechanic. His expertise not only earned him a respected position at Avondale Shipyards but also enabled him to make a significant impact as an educator at Pearl River Vo-Tech, where he shared his knowledge in auto mechanics with eager students. Later, he took his talents to the Hancock County School System, where he served as a bus driver, ensuring the safety and well-being of countless children.
Outside of his professional achievements, Robert had a passion for the great outdoors, particularly boating and fishing. His love of fishing became a cherished tradition that he passed down to his grandchildren. His time spent crabbing and fishing off the seawall with them will be remembered as moments of joy and bonding, illustrations of his spirit and love for family.
Robert received thoughtful care from the devoted staff of Dunbar Village and Vital Caring, who made a meaningful difference in his life.
