MSgt Robert Allen Beebe, U.S.A.F., Retired, age 68, of Gulfport, passed away on May 22, 2013, in Gulfport.
Mr. Beebe was born in Gloversville, NY, to Llewellyn and Frances Shaver Beebe and graduated from Gloversville High School in 1963. He served in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of service. During that time, he was awarded three Air Force Meritorious Service Medals, five Air Force Commendation Medals, the Air Force Achievement Medal, and served in numerous Disaster Preparedness positions including Superintendent. One of his assignments he was most proud of was working on the space shuttle recovery team out of Edwards Air Force Base. After his military service, he served as a deputy sheriff in Colorado for ten years before accepting a position with the American Red Cross, where he served as Emergency Services Director for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chapter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Beebe.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine Jeanne (Edick) Beebe of Gulfport; son, John Beebe of Monona, WI; daughter, Christine Beebe of Colorado Springs, CO; and his brother, Larry Beebe of Barre, VT.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel.
Burial will be Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Biloxi National Cemetery, at 12:30 p.m. with full military honors by the United States Air Force.
