Robert Julius Ausgaard, age 94 of Long Beach, passed away May 17, 2018.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Florence Ausgaard.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Clara M. Ausgaard; his daughter, Viki N. Ausgaard; his son, Robert Jay Ausgaard; his niece, Elsa Williams (Edmond); and his nephew, Charles Ingram (Carolyn).
A native of Wabasha, Minnesota, Robert entered the Army Air Corps after he graduated from high school. He served in WWII and the Korean War and received many awards and service medals. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1964 as Senior Master Sergeant and began working for the John C. Stennis Space Center, known then as the Mississippi Test Facility.
Robert belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Long Beach and was a member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 3:00 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, with a visitation for family and friends from 1:00 PM until the service. Burial will follow at Conn Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks for the caregivers of SAAD Healthcare for their home and hospice care.
