Rita Bertucci Salloum

Rita Bertucci Salloum, age 94, a resident of Gulfport, passed away, Saturday, June 18, 2016, in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta Flynn Bertucci and Anthony ""Toni"" Bertucci; her husband, Edmond Ellis ""Bubba""Salloum; and her son, David Edmond Salloum.
Rita is survived by her children, Edmond (Nancy) Salloum of Gulfport, and Susan (Eddie) Collins, also of Gulfport; her brother, Joseph N. ""Bert"" Bertucci of Gulfport; her grandchildren, Amy (David) Lee, Edmond Salloum, Jr., and Mickey Anderson, Jr. all of Gulfport; and her great grandchildren, Kegan Salloum, Sam Lee, Molly Lee, Lucy Lee, and Amy Laurel Lee all of Gulfport.
She graduated from St. John Catholic High School and retired from Keesler Air Force Base. Rita was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Thomas Mother's Group, and St. Margaret's Daughter, her beloved scripture group.
Rita was a person of strong faith with a loving heart who lived life serving others. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joys of her life.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society or a charity of your choice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with a visitation for family and friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
