Rita Joyce Ray

Rita Joyce Ray, age 71, of Long beach, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Ray, Jr., a son, Danny Ray, her parents, Malcolm and Edmonia Gibson, a brother, Malcolm Gibson, and a sister, Patsy Hertzog.
Survivors include her children, Laura (Eugene) Burrus, DeeDee (Tim) McCaffrey, and Patrick (Suzanne), Ray, Sr., a daughter-in-law, Ann Ray, 3 sisters, Jean Fulgham, Linda Sue Page, and Rhonda Boyd, her grandchildren, Daniel (Ashley) Ray, Anthony (Katie) Ray, Lauren (Matt) Kowalchyk, Ashleigh (Bear) Seal, Timothy McCaffrey, Haylee McCaffrey, Patrick Ray, Jr., and Tori Ray, great-grandchildren, Rylee McCaffrey, Abigail McCaffrey, Jaelyn Ray, Jordin Ray, Jasemine Ray, Sonny Ray, Annakate Ray, and Marek Kowalchyk, and several nieces and nephews.
She and her husband owned Dan Ray Construction in Long Beach and she was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Rita participated in several cursillo's in Dedeaux and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially traveling to Disney World.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
