Ricky D West

Ricky D West, a beloved husband, father, brother, friend, and Pawpaw passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 16, 1950, Ricky lived a life marked by his dedication to family, military service, and craftsmanship.

Ricky was proud to serve his country during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroic actions in 1971. His commitment to his country was just one aspect of his character, reflecting a man who valued bravery and honor.

In addition to his military service, Ricky made a significant impact through his work as a self-employed construction professional. His expertise and skill were evident in every project he undertook, leaving a legacy of quality craftsmanship that will be remembered for years to come.

Ricky was also passionate about building birdhouses, a hobby that brought him joy and an opportunity to share his love of nature with family and friends. His creations were not only functional but also a testament to his creativity and dedication.

Ricky is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia "Patti" West, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. He is also mourned by his children, Robert Lee West and wife Beverly, and Krista Dale Sholar and husband Jeremy. He cherished his siblings, Karen Sue Cook and Randy C. West, and will be lovingly remembered by his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Additionally, he leaves behind his furry companion, Kronos, who was a beloved member of the family.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Abbott West and Lonnie Myrtle Dennis West, whose love and values shaped him into the remarkable man he became.

A graveside service will be held on December 12, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport, Mississippi, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather in remembrance and honor of Ricky's life.

Ricky D West will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew him.
