Rickey Lamar Hayes

Rickey Lamar Hayes, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 21, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the age of 60. Born in Meridian, Mississippi, on October 12, 1964, Rickey was a man of remarkable character and steadfast dedication to those he loved.

Rickey was the owner and operator of The Grasshopper.net. He also worked as a vending technician during a two-year tenure with Allen Beverages, Inc. His professional journey was complemented by an educational background that included earning an Associate Degree in Marine Biology and proudly serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, a testament to his dedication and commitment.

Rickey found joy in a variety of activities. He was a gun enthusiast and cherished spending quality time with family and friends. His love for technology was evident through his enjoyment of computer games, and he particularly treasured the moments spent with his beloved granddaughter, Olivia.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Dianne Hayes; their children, Haley (Charles) Hayes, Nik (Christina) Hayes, and Jonathan (Niki) Tice. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Olivia and Ryley Tice, and Peyton Hawkins, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter.

Known for being the most loving, thoughtful, and selfless man, Rickey Hayes was truly the greatest dad, husband, and friend that anyone could hope to know. His legacy of kindness and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the honor of being part of his life.

Visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport, Mississippi, on May 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on May 30, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM and concluding at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Rickey Lamar Hayes will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
