Richard Karl ""Dick"" Weber, age 89, resident of Diamondhead, MS, and formerly of New Orleans, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014.
Mr. Weber was born in Erie, PA to Harry H. and Zoe Ellen Jackson Weber. He was educated at the Robert Morris School of Business and Finance in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces and served in the European and African Theaters where he received the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and two Unit Citations.
After the war, Dick married Margaret E. Klauk in Erie, PA. He later earned his CPA and worked in the field of accounting his entire career. His experience included being a CPA and Management Consultant and CFO of Major Corporations located in PA, WI, IL, IA, and LA.
Dick was also involved in his Diamondhead Community. He had served as President, Interim General Manager, and Board Member of the Diamondhead Country Club and Property Owners Association. He was currently serving as a commissioner for the Diamondhead Fire District and was a member of the Diamondhead Business and Professional Association, Past President and Board Member of the Diamondhead Community Association, Diamondhead Boaters Association, DuPont Community Advisory Committee, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, the Grand Lodge of PA, VFW Post 2880, American Legion, American and Louisiana Institute of CPA's, Sons of American Revolution, Fin and Feather, Diamondhead Men's Golf Association, and former member of the Hancock County Republican Executive Committee, and Romeo's.
He was awarded the American Institute of CPA's Fifty Year Honorary Membership Award, the Fifty Year Masonic Service Emblem, and the Demolay Legion of Honor Award.
Mr. Weber was an active member of Diamondhead Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Harold J. Weber and Raymond G. Weber.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret E. Weber of Diamondhead; his children, Richard Keith Weber of Clinton, LA, Kathleen Ellen McCracken (Steve) of Ft. Madison, IA, Lynda Leigh Holmes (Robin) of Denham Springs, LA, and Jennifer Jill Lindskoog (Matt) of Duluth, GA; grandchildren, Jason McCracken, Kelly Weber Fischer (Jason), Christopher Holmes, Colin McCracken (Chelsea), Joshua Holmes, Keith Weber, Sarah Weber, Jakob Lindskoog, and Annaliese Lindskoog; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, including military honors, will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Diamondhead Community Church, at 2:00 p.m. A gathering will be held in the parish hall of the church following services.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials in Dick's memory to Driving Magic, Inc., P.O. Box 279, Duluth, Georgia 30096. All donations will go directly to a scholarship fund for adults with special needs from the Annandale Village. This is a project very close to Dick's heart.
