Richard Taylor, age 91, passed away on February 3, 2017 in Gulfport, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Handsboro.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter A. Taylor and Corinne Saucier Taylor; and his brother, Walter Taylor, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Retha Mae Taylor; son, David Taylor (Kandyce) of Biloxi; daughter, Connie Ratcliff of Woolmarket; four grandchildren, Heather Webber, Jason Harden, Ashley Geil, Max Taylor; two step-grandchildren Michelle Holden (Bart), Corey Obarr; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Richard was a devout Christian. He enjoyed camping and belonged to two different camping clubs. He served as a signalman in the United States Navy during WWII including the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bay Vista Baptist Church, 2485 Pass Rd., Biloxi, MS 39531.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 3 PM RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
