Richard Carlisle McCoy, age 69, Gulfport, passed away on December 19, 2017.
Richard was born in Gulfport and served in the Air National Guard and then in the United States Army Reserve for over 20 years. After his military career, he worked at the Biloxi VA as a nurse and was a dedicated and hard-working man. He enjoyed woodworking and walking his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Abbitt McCoy and Christine Hunt McCoy.
He is survived by his children, Jefferson Wayne McCoy (June), Royce Atley McCoy (Renee), Constance Hope Boyles (Chris), and Julie Amber Payne (Joey); siblings, Robert Howard McCoy (Jane) and William Abbitt McCoy (Dorinda); 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his canine companions, Molly, Brutus, and Kane; and his feline companions, Kitty and Shadow.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS, at 12 o'clock Noon. Family and friends are invited to visit at the cemetery from 11:00 a.m. until Noon.
