Richard K. MacPhee

Richard K. MacPhee, age 74, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on August 25, 2026.

Richard was a native of Boston, Massachusetts, and attended Boston Latin High School and Northeastern University. A talented musician, he spent more than 25 years performing with the band Class of ’66. He often spoke fondly of growing up in New England and felt blessed to have been surrounded by so many different styles of music that he called the soundtrack of his life. Music remained an important part of who he was, and he will be fondly remembered by many as “Big Bucks” MacPhee.

In addition to his love of music, Richard enjoyed birdwatching and fundraising. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, wonderful brother, and a great friend to many.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Anna T. McLaughlin and Peter D. MacPhee; his brother, Robert J. MacPhee; his sister, Janet Constantine; and his niece, Heather MacPhee.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Billie MacPhee; his stepchildren, Eric Schulman, Kristi Ashton and her husband, Manuel Ashton, and Will Schulman; his brother, Peter E. MacPhee and his wife, Bonnie; his sister, Theresa Ellis; his grandchildren, Makayla Chapman, Mathew Chapman, Nathan Chapman, Kristipher Calloway, Brayden Ashton, Gabriel Schulman, Jayden Schulman, Mia Schulman, and Emma Schulman; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is honored to serve the MacPhee family.
