BUC Richard Franklin """"Dick"""" Johnson, U.S. Navy Seabees, Retired, 72, of Long Beach, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 in Gulfport.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Illinois and has live don the coast for 28 years. He retired from the U.S. Navy Seabees and as a Supervisor with Alcan Cable. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helmer and Eva Johnson, 4 brothers, Gordon, Kenny, Eugene, and Norman Johnson, and 1 sister, Shirley Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Nellie Johnson, Long Beach, his children, David (Kaet) Johnson, Trevor, WI, Dale (Dora) Johnson, Burkburnette, TX, Michelle (Alex) Eleuterius, Long Beach, Lisa (Chuck) Starita, Pass Christian, Ricky Lusardi, Kathy Warden, both of Long Beach, and Victoria (Tim) Stanley, Orlando, FL, 1 brother, George Johnson, 2 sisters, Betty White and Jeanette Taylor, 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:30 to 12 noon at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Long Beach. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
