Richard Harrell

Richard Paul Harrell, 60, of Vancleave, MS passed away suddenly on Friday, April 26, 2019.
Richard was born in Pensacola, FL on June 21, 1958. A native of Molino, FL, he was a 1976 graduate of J.M. Tate High School. He went on to complete the Apprenticeship program as a Boilermaker for Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS, earning the Outstanding Apprentice Award at the Southern States Apprenticeship Conference in 1979. He continued his career at Ingalls, retiring as a Planner/Scheduler III in 2016. Throughout his 34-year career in Production Control, he saw dozens of ships through the build process from hull-laying to the water.
A proud father and grandfather, and a great son, brother, and friend, he enjoyed spending his time attending live music concerts; riding his Harley-Davidson, "MS Baby"; and shooting pool on Friday nights. He was also a lover of nature and an avid outdoorsman, spending many of his days hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by three children from his marriage to Kathy Faye Havard-Harrell:  son, Shelton Kane (Amber) Harrell; daughter, Ricki Lee Harrell; and son, Kody Shade Harrell; grandson, Macon Malakai Harrell; parents Donald Gregory Harrell and Beverly Joyce Harrell; and siblings Lane Keith Harrell, Joseph Zane Harrell, Suzanne Renee' Harrell, and Gary Kevin Harrell.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, William Harmon Harrell, Alice Margarette Clemmons Harrell, William Alfred Shelton, and Annie Mae Boggs Shelton.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 17200 Indian Lane in Vancleave, MS. Guests should plan to arrive beginning at 12:00PM in advance of a brief memorial to be held at 1:00PM.
The celebration will continue afterwards with guests invited to stay and enjoy the afternoon among friends and family.
The event will be potluck-style, so guests are encouraged to bring along a favorite dish to share.
