Richard Alan Frierson

December 1, 1964 — November 28, 2012

Retired US Army SFC Richard Frierson, of Slidell, LA, beloved husband, father, brother and precious son passed through the gates of Heaven 28 November 2012 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans.
He was born at Wethersfield AFB, in Essex, England 27 December 1964. He retired from the US Army in 2003. He graduated from St Martin High School in 1982. He was a soldier first. He proudly served his country in the Desert Storm War, and was posted to Germany twice, Fort Hood, TX, Fort Sill, OK, Pontiac, MI, and Jackson Barracks in New Orleans. He was a member of the D'Iberville Moose Family Center 332.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Karin; son, Richard; daughter, Christina; grandchildren, Bransen, Connor and Kailey; his mother, Sally Ferreira (Frank); father, Tommy Frierson (Pauline); brothers, Randy Frierson (Candi), and Kevin Frierson (Barbara); sister, Linda Frierson Buford; nephews, Benjamin Frierson (Kristin), Richard Buford, Josh Frierson, and Jason Frierson; niece, Amanda Frierson; and mother and father-in-law, Magdalena and Hans Mankel of Wetzlar, Germany. Blended family members include Christine MacBrayer and Joanne Ferreira, John Brockman, Tim Brockman, Pamela Blahnik (Steve), and Kevin and Donna Gary.
The family is eternally grateful to the staff of Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans who went above and beyond in caring for him in his final days and the D'Iberville Moose Family Center members for their expression of concern and kindness.
Richard will be buried at the Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors on Monday, 3 December 2012 at 12:30 p.m.
