Richard Freshour

Richard "Rick" Arthur Freshour, age 61, passed away on May 22, 2021 in St. Martin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eugene Freshour and Gladys Louise Morse Freshour; sister, Debbie Cain; and brothers Robert E. Freshour, Jr. and Danny Guy Freshour.
Survivors include his wife Delores Suarez; eight children, Richard Freshour, Jr., Trisha Donna (Melissa) of Ocean Springs, Jessica Bridges (Jason) of Ocean Springs, Gregory Freshour, NC, Bud Freshour (Madison) of Biloxi, Richard Hempe (Cristina) of Latimer, Sophia Jaquet of Ocean Springs, Corey Schrieber (Bobbi) of Ocean Springs; two siblings, David William Freshour (Debbie) of Ocean Springs, Susie Stephens of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Tyler White, Nicholas White, Vanessa Shivers, Bianca Shivers, Erika Shivers, Madelyn Freshour, Scarlet Freshour, Kacyn Weeks, Bryson Hempe, Gage Hempe, Jansen Rowell, Hailey Newberry, Savannah Bridges, Jason Bridges, Brenton Bridges, Madilynn Broussard, Brigston Jaquet, Logan Jaquet, Daniel Bosarge, Odin Schrieber, Lillian Schrieber; one great-grandchild, Sabastian Bridges; former spouse, Melinda Poncet; and a lifelong friend, Jim Wharton.
Rick was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He was a loving father and husband. He worked most of his life as a jack-of-all-trades handyman, working his first job at ACR as a delivery driver. There wasn't anything he did not know how to do. If he didn't know how to do something, he would learn and then teach. He was gifted in so many ways. In his spare time he enjoyed painting, woodworking, gardening and cutting the most absurd jokes. He was definitely a one-of-a-kind character. He had a way of lighting up everyone's day when he was around. He always had a joke or advice for any and every situation, touched so many people's lives with words of encouragement and made even the most awkward person feel welcome. He had a huge heart and the world knew it.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, May 28, 2021, 5:00 - 8:00 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. West Jackson County.
