Richard Douglas "Doug" Davis, age 63 of Biloxi went on to play his biggest gig on Wednesday night, February 21, 2018. Welcoming him was his biggest fan, his mother, Joy Gerhardt.
Doug was born in Cleveland, MS, and has been a resident of Biloxi since 1966.
Doug is proceeded in death by his father, Jack Davis; his mother, Joy Gerhardt; and sister, Evelyn "Missy" Bosarge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Linda Rae Davis; step-daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Studley; two grandchildren, Bryce Alan and Samantha Rae Studley, of Augusta, GA; and brother in law, Steven Bosarge of Biloxi.
Doug graduated from USM with a Master's Degree in music. His love of music never left him. He worked with his close friends Kevin Cuevas and Lester Rich and was opening acts for multiple famous bands, such as Reba McEntyre, Alabama, and Ricky Nelson, and a list of others. Doug traveled nationally in the late 1960's with the Box Tops. He worked with Little Theater Productions and for 40 years has played music with local bands along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
He was also an avid golfer and shot a hole in one on September 29, 2008 at the Dogwood Hills Golf Club.
Doug retired from Mississippi Regional Housing Authority #8 after 25 years. He was the Section 8 Director of housing under the administration of Alfred E. Rushing.
There will be a visitation service from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi.
