PO1 Rhett R. Maynard, U.S. Navy, Retired, age 69, of Pass Christian, passed away on April 8, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Maynard, his parents, John J. Maynard, Sr. and Gertrude Josephine Maynard, and a sister, Sondra L. Moran.
Survivors include his brothers, John J. (Patricia A.) Maynard, Jr., and Louis E. (Mary) Maynard, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Maynard served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later retired as a Petty Officer First Class. He was an active member at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he served in many capacities such as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, delivered communion to the homebound, was a member of the choir, was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and did various volunteer work. He was a member and State officer of the El Hombre Club and he enjoyed doing work for children.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Pass Christian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am in the church. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
