Obituary

Renee Redmond Washington was born on April 7, 1976, a radiant blessing bestowed upon this world. From her very first breath, she carried with her an unmistakable light — a life destined to be filled with love, grace, and divine purpose. On July 9, 2026, the Lord called His faithful servant home to eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy that will forever illuminate the hearts of all who knew her.

Renee was reared Biloxi Public School District where she met and fell in love with her soulmate, the late Darrel Washington, Jr., whom she married 8 years later. To this union was born Devin Washington and Destiny Washington. Renee was employed by Beaujolais Villas as office administrator.

Renee also leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Devin, Demarcus and Zachery; her daughter, Destiny; her sisters, Jennie Landford, Dionne (Otis) Sullivan; her mother, Linda Broussard; her father-in-law, Darrel (Shawonne); her aunts, Tina Evans, Mary Ann Harvey and Vinesta Badordor; her granddaughter, De’Aira West; her niece, Daszia (Moses) Johnson; her nephews, Demetrius and Dominic; great nephews, Jireh and Jonah; great niece, Melodi and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Renee was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel; her father, Gerald Redmond; her stepfather, Frankie Broussard; mother-in-law, Doris Washington and her grandparents, James (June) Washington, Sr.

Though she has departed from our earthly sight, her spirit lives on in every life she touched, every heart she warmed, and every soul she lifted in prayer. She now rests peacefully in the arms of her Heavenly Father, where there is no more sorrow, no more pain — only everlasting peace.
