Obituary

Renate Dunn, age 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully. Renate was born in Lorsch, Germany, and immigrated to the United States, where she proudly became a U.S. citizen in Virginia in the 1980s. Her warmth, generosity, and joy for life touched all who knew her.

Renate is survived by her loving children: Harry Eberle, Nancy Gauer (married to Harold), Anthony Eberle (married to Kari), Lisa Barnes (married to Adam), and her close adopted daughter, Tammy Fox (married to Chad). She is preceded in death by her son Dennis Eberle (was married to Carli McGary), whom she held close in her heart always. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren: Christin, Ben, Melissa, Aleise, Keanu, Aerial, Chynna, and Tia, as well as her many great-grandchildren: Maddox, Garrett, Heidi, Henry, Scarlett, Halle, Landis, Kaiser, Jessiah, Shawny, Braelynn, Jensen, Bentley, Teagan, Heizel, Emmah, and Hunter.

She is also survived by her dear siblings, Susanna Moody of Georgia and Valentin Eberle of Germany.

Renate had a zest for life and made friends wherever she went. She loved playing bingo at the Biloxi Elks Lodge #606, was an avid reader of love stories, and took great joy in cooking for her friends at the RV park, where she found a second family. Her faith was important to her, and she was a devoted member of Saint James Catholic Church.

Renate is remembered fondly by her friends at the RV park and especially her bingo partner, Dee. Her favorite saying, “Where you at? Whatcha doin’?” will be lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Renate’s remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint James Catholic Church in her honor.

Renate will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, but her love and spirit will remain with us always.

Riemann Family Funeral Homes, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, is honored to serve the Dunn family.
