Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Selmer and Elizabeth Skogen; and his brothers, Clyde Skogen, Lyle Skogen, Larry Skogen, and Robert Skogen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marcia Skogen; his children, Joel Skogen (Deirdre), Dawn Huffman (Chris), and Renee Marcellus (Pat); his sisters, Sally Miller (Tim), Dorothy Skogen, Phyllis Skogen, and Bonnie Skogen; his grandchildren, Erik Skogen (Laura Munoz), Maddie Ownby, Christopher Huffman (Katie Rae Airhart), Aaron Huffman (Catherine), Neal Marcellus (Natasha), Amanda Tarver (Cole), Noah Marcellus, and Crystal James (Harry); and his great grandchildren, Hanna, Casey, Taylor, Selah, Maddox, Zara, Crosby, Kayden, Elijah, Thomas, and Barrett.
Raymond enjoyed grocery shopping, fishing, hunting, flea markets. Most of all, he loved Jesus and was a member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach.
He loved the Lord and a week before his death, he laid in bed repeating, “I Love You, Jesus!” He always did even though he had his moments. He never met a stranger. Even with all he went through, he loved his family. Raymond was very giving whenever someone was in need and he always found a way to witness to others.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the ALS Foundation.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, is serving the family.
